Flexquest may take some time to master.  Some people take to Flexquest instantly, but others may need some time with the Guided Tours, Cue Cards, Topic Help, Practice Data, and the support bundled with your system.

Flexquest may give you more options than you want.  Flexquest sometimes records data by asking you to select answers from pull-down lists, and the lists may contain more choices than are relevant to you (though in most cases you can remove options you never use).  Likewise, since operations such as printing mailing labels first require you to indicate whether to print for everyone or certain subgroups, you may have to answer a couple of "unnecessary" questions if you never send to subgroups.  And for a final example, Flexquest's donation acknowledgments might seem like too much if all you want are donation receipts rather than automated personalized thank you letters.

Flexquest often lets you do things in more than one way.  For example, Flexquest allows you three different ways to log donations.  Each is appropriate to a different kind of use, but it does mean that you have to decide which is best under what circumstances.  The implication is that at least one seasoned user is required to do more advanced operations, and that Flexquest therefore isn't suited to use solely by volunteers or temporary workers.

Flexquest enforces a particular view of orderliness.  While Flexquest truly is flexible, we have very definite ideas about how data processing takes place most efficiently in our client's offices.  So, while you can customize lots of choices and choose between alternative procedures to do things, you can't rework the whole feel of Flexquest like you could if you were writing your own database in a spreadsheet or Microsoft Access.  If you have any doubts, we recommend requesting a trial version of Flexquest so you can see how it works in detail.
